Evidence, proof and selling tools for MCPGate Boundary Appliance
Level 1 Beginner: understand it
MCPGate Boundary Appliance is a gate you run yourself between AI agents and their MCP tool servers. Every tool call is evaluated before it is forwarded; a call that is not explicitly allowed does not reach the tool.
Think of it like this: A security checkpoint on the only road into a building, with its logbook kept by you.

Level 2 User: see it work
Run it live: open the live demo. Before each result, guess what will happen. These are checks it must pass:
- Read a report file (allowed tool): On the list, harmless argument: forwarded.
- SELECT 1 (allowed tool): A plain read query: forwarded.
- A tool not on the list: Default-deny: not forwarded.
- Delete_database: Held for approval.
- Allowed shell tool, rm -rf /: An allowed tool with a destructive argument is still held.
- Allowed file tool, /etc/shadow: A sensitive path is held.
Level 3 Verifier: prove it yourself
This is the skill that sets you apart: you don't have to believe us, and neither do your customers.
- Install Python 3 if you don't have it (python.org/downloads).
- Download the kit and unzip it.
- Open a terminal in that folder. On Windows, click the folder's address bar, type
cmdand press Enter. On a Mac, right-click the folder and choose New Terminal at Folder. - Run
python3 verify.py(on Windows, python verify.py). It checks the seal without the internet. - Run
python3 verify.py --live. It repeats every check from your own computer. - Try to cheat it: open
transcript.jsonin a text editor, change one character, save, and runpython3 verify.pyagain. It must now say FAIL. Unzip a fresh copy afterward.
Level 4 Expert: know the edges
An expert knows what a product does not do, and says it first. That is what makes a buyer trust you.
- The live demo runs the gate's decision logic, not a Kubernetes install; the chart has not been run on a customer's cluster yet.
- It only governs calls routed through it. An agent with another path to the tool is not stopped.
- Argument checks recognize patterns; a harmful call worded in an unfamiliar way can pass.
- It decides at the gate; it cannot see what a tool does after a call is forwarded.
- Our own test cases; no third-party audit, and no uptime guarantee.
You can say
- A tool call that isn't allowed never reaches the tool.
Never say
- "Unbreakable" or "stops every attack".

An allowed shell tool is called with rm -rf /. What happens?
The call is held; the argument matters, not only the tool name.
Has it run on a customer's cluster?
Not yet. Say so.
In the live check "A tool not on the list", what answer must come back, and why?
false. Default-deny: not forwarded.
In the live check "Delete_database", what answer must come back, and why?
false. Held for approval.
In the live check "Allowed shell tool, rm -rf /", what answer must come back, and why?
false. An allowed tool with a destructive argument is still held.
Does a passing kit prove the product is safe for every possible input?
No. It proves what the live product answered to the inputs listed in the kit, and lets anyone check that again.
Has an independent party audited or certified this product?
No. No third-party audit is complete and no certification is held. Say so if asked.

- Who buys it and where to find them.
- The sales conversation, then the offer and the close.
- The rules: read these before your first message.
- Selling tools with this product's evidence built in: pitch, emails, call script, objection answers, one-pager.
