CAIN PathCorrection, explained for beginners
PathCorrection spots agents stuck in loops or drifting off task and hands back a reminder of the goal.
What it is
Long-running agents get stuck: the same search over and over, or a slow drift away from the task.
PathCorrection scores the drift of the recent steps. Under the tolerance: carry on. Over it: requires_steering, with an anchor message to put back in front of the agent.
An everyday comparison
A sat-nav saying 'you've passed this roundabout five times'.
How it works, in 4 steps
- Send the goal and the recent steps.
- Drift is scored.
- Under tolerance: maintain.
- Over: an anchor message is returned.
