Trust State Engine, explained for beginners
Trust State Engine remembers how each AI agent has behaved and denies risky actions after a violation, explaining exactly why.
What it is
Should an AI agent that just broke a rule still be allowed to do risky things? Most systems don't remember: permission is permission. The Trust State Engine keeps a running trust level per agent, built only from recorded events, never from the AI's own opinion.
A policy violation lowers the agent's trust. While trust is degraded, high-risk actions are denied. Anyone can ask why, and get an explanation naming the event that changed it. Trust recovers slowly and only from new evidence.
An everyday comparison
A credit score for agents: built from records, and a recent default means no big loan for a while.
How it works, in 4 steps
- Events are recorded: good behaviour and violations.
- Each agent's trust level is computed from that evidence.
- Risky actions are allowed, held or denied depending on trust.
- The explanation names the events behind the decision.

Who it is for
Companies running agents long-term that want permissions to respond to behaviour.
